HOME INSPECTIONS

We provide comprehensive inspections of homes in accordance with the procedures established by the American Society of Home Inspectors, (ASHI) Visit their website at www.ashi.org click on Standards of Practice for a complete description of what is and is not included in a home inspection. Inspectors on our staff are members, or candidate members, of ASHI and are certified to provide home inspections. It normally takes two hours or more to inspect the house and another hour to write the report on site. We furnish an 18 page booklet with two copies of the report documenting the condition of the home and a summary of items requiring repair or correction.

HOMES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

We provide inspections for homes under construction. The inspections are normally done in three phases. Phase I covers the excavation of soil for footings and the preparation of the forms prior to pouring concrete for the footings or slab. Phase II covers the framing and utility rough-ins and is done just prior to the installation of the thermal insulation and drywall material. Phase III occurs before final acceptance when utilities are connected and activated.

COMMERCIAL INSPECTIONS

RADON GAS TEST

Radon gas test are available for commercial or residential structures. The test utilizes the exposure of activated charcoal canisters in the space for 48 hours in accordance with standard protocol. Written reports by certified laboratories are furnished.

CONSULTING

Consulting services are limited to areas of expertise to assist owners with conditions of water intrusion in basements and crawl spaces, storm damage assessment and other items.
